Hunger is a particularly prevalent issue on community college campuses. Studies have shown that 42% of community colleges students are food insecure, meaning they do not get enough to eat. Experiencing hunger negatively impacts their ability to be successful students physically, mentally, and emotionally. One resource SCC students have is Artie's FIT Market, a food pantry on the Scottsdale Community College campus built on the idea of providing nutritious food resources to those in need.
