Taste of the Desert: Foraging and Jam Making
Join us for a hands-on, non credit class where you'll learn to harvest, prepare, and preserve prickly pear fruit right from our own campus! We'll start with a guided walk through campus, showing you how to identify and safely harvest ripe prickly pears. Then, we'll head into the culinary kitchen where you'll learn how to process this unique wild fruit into a jar of sweet jelly. You will leave with your own jar of prickly pear jelly and the instructions and confidence to prepare your own jelly at home. Spots are limited so register now to get a taste of the desert! Participants must be 18 or older. Class Date: Friday, November 21st. Time: 3:00pm to 6:30pm. Location: AP 276.
